Fridge Removal Parramatta — Kerbside Pickup From $80

Updated

Fridge and freezer removal in Parramatta starts at $80 — collected from the kerbside, degassed by a licensed handler, and recycled for metal. Parramatta produces more end-of-lease fridges than almost anywhere else in Sydney, for a simple reason.

Unfurnished rentals create abandoned fridges

The overwhelming majority of Parramatta rentals come without a fridge. So every tenant buys one — usually cheap, usually second-hand or entry-level — uses it for a lease or two, and then faces the same problem at the end: it won't fit in the car, nobody wants to buy it, and moving it costs more than it's worth.

So it gets left. In the apartment, in the corridor, or by the bins downstairs — all of which create a charge for someone, usually the departing tenant via their bond.

If you're in a tower

Arrange for the fridge to be safely moved outside to the kerbside before pickup. Sort these with building management first:

  • Service lift booking — required in most Parramatta towers, and frequently restricted to weekday business hours
  • A suitable kerbside collection point outside the building
  • No leaving it in a common area — nearly all strata schemes prohibit this and will charge the lot owner

Then give us the street address and agreed kerbside collection details. Our team does not collect from inside homes or carry items down stairs. Collections run Monday to Friday, 6am–4pm.

Why a fridge can't go on the kerb

Two reasons. First, City of Parramatta — like every Sydney council — only allows bulky items on the nature strip once you've booked a collection for a specific date. Anything else is illegal dumping and fineable, and Parramatta enforces it actively in high-density streets.

Second, and more important: every fridge and freezer contains refrigerant gas in a sealed circuit that must be recovered by a licensed handler before the unit is crushed. Older units may hold ozone-depleting gases; newer ones hold refrigerants with a heavy global-warming impact. A fridge left in the sun or tipped into a truck can vent the lot. What we take

Fridges, bar fridges, French-door fridges, upright freezers and chest freezers — $80 for a small–medium unit, $150 for a large one. Any age, any condition, working or not.

A washing machine or an old TV can go in the same trip. We don't take dryers, dishwashers, ovens or air conditioners.

Preparing it

  1. Empty it the night before
  2. Defrost the freezer and mop up the water
  3. Unplug it and coil the cord
  4. Leave the doors on — unlike a council collection, we don't need them removed
  5. Arrange safe placement outside at the kerbside before pickup

Frequently asked questions

Is a bar fridge cheaper?

Than a large fridge, yes. A bar fridge is $80, like any small–medium unit; large fridges and freezers are $150.

Do I need to remove the doors?

No. That's a council collection requirement, not ours.

Can you take a fridge and a mattress together?

Yes — one trip, from $80 for the fridge and $80 for the mattress. The standard end-of-lease combination here.

It still works. Will you take it?

Yes. Most of what we collect still runs.
