Mattresses on a driveway in Auburn ready for collection

Mattress Removal Auburn, Granville & Merrylands — Flat $80

Updated

Mattress removal across Auburn, Granville, Merrylands and Lidcombe is a flat $80 each, any size, any condition. This corridor sits between our Bankstown yard and Parramatta, so it's well inside our regular runs — same-day is often possible if you book before noon.

High turnover, larger households

Two things drive mattress volume here. Rental turnover is high, and households are often larger and multi-generational, which means more beds per property.

The result is that most jobs here involve several mattresses at once, and a lot of them are end-of-lease. $80 each, one trip, no minimum.

Mixed housing

  • Freestanding homes — arrange for mattresses to be safely placed outside at the kerbside before pickup; we do not carry from homes or garages.
  • Older walk-ups around Auburn, Granville and Lidcombe stations — three storeys, no lift. Arrange suitable help to move mattresses safely outside before pickup; stair carrying is not included.
  • Newer apartment blocks, increasingly common along the rail corridor and around Sydney Olympic Park — arrange any service lift and building access needed to move mattresses safely outside to the kerbside before pickup.

End of lease

Most rentals here come unfurnished, so tenants buy their own mattresses and fridges and then face the same problem at the end: they won't fit in a car, nobody wants to buy them, and moving them costs more than they're worth.

Left in the property, they come out of the bond at the agent's contractor rate — reliably more than $80. Book the pickup two or three days before your final inspection, not after. Full end-of-lease guide.

Cumberland Council rules

Auburn, Granville, Merrylands, Lidcombe and Guildford mostly fall under Cumberland City Council, which runs booked bulky collections with annual limits per household.

Items may only go on the nature strip once you've booked a specific collection date. Anything else is illegal dumping and it's fineable, and enforcement across Western Sydney is active including camera programs in known hotspots.

Two practical catches: the annual cap disappears quickly with a multi-mattress job, and in a strata block tenants generally can't make the booking themselves. More on council collections.
