Fridge Removal Ryde, Eastwood & Macquarie Park — From $80
Updated

Fridge and freezer removal across Ryde, Eastwood and Macquarie Park starts at $80 — degassed by a licensed handler and recycled for metal.
Two very different sources of old fridges here
Student housing turnover. Macquarie University drives a hard cycle in late February and July. Most rentals around Macquarie Park and Marsfield come unfurnished, so tenants buy a cheap fridge, use it for a year or two, and abandon it at the end of a lease because it won't fit in a car and nobody wants it.
Family-home garage fridges. The established homes through Ryde, West Ryde, Denistone and Eastwood are full of second fridges — demoted to the garage when the kitchen was renovated and running quietly ever since. An old unit in a hot garage can cost $200–$400 a year. Full breakdown.
Access
Houses: please arrange for the fridge to be safely placed outside at the kerbside before pickup; we do not collect from inside homes or garages.
Student accommodation and towers: arrange any service lift and building access needed to have the fridge safely moved outside to the kerbside before pickup. Many buildings restrict removals to weekday business hours.
For older walk-ups around West Ryde and Meadowbank, arrange suitable help to have the fridge safely moved outside before pickup; stair carrying is not included. Collections run Monday to Friday, 6am–4pm.
Preparing it
- Empty it the night before
- Defrost the freezer a full day ahead and mop up the meltwater
- Unplug it and coil the cord
- Leave the doors on — we don't need them removed
- Arrange safe placement outside at the kerbside before pickup
Council rules
Mostly City of Ryde, with parts near Epping and Carlingford straddling City of Parramatta and Hornsby. Check which one your address falls under before relying on a council collection — rules and allocations differ.
Everywhere: items go on the nature strip only once you've booked a specific collection date. Otherwise it's illegal dumping and it's fineable. Most councils that accept fridges also require doors removed or taped for child safety.
The bigger reason to book a proper pickup is the refrigerant, which must be recovered under licence before the unit is crushed. The full process.
What we take
Fridges, bar fridges, wine fridges, upright freezers and chest freezers — $80 for a small–medium unit, $150 for a large one, working or not, any age. A washing machine or an old TV can go in the same trip. We don't take dryers, dishwashers, ovens or air conditioners.
Nearby suburbs we cover
Ryde, West Ryde, North Ryde, East Ryde, Macquarie Park, Marsfield, Denistone, Eastwood, Meadowbank, Melrose Park, Putney, Gladesville, Epping and Carlingford.
