Mattress Removal Sydney CBD & Inner City — Flat $80
Updated
Share
Mattress removal in the Sydney CBD and inner city is a flat $80, any size, any condition. City apartment residents have the hardest disposal problem in Sydney — no nature strip you can use, a council collection you generally can't book yourself, and strata by-laws that prohibit leaving anything in common areas.
Sort the building first
Collection is kerbside only. In a CBD tower, arrange for the mattress to be safely moved outside to the agreed kerbside collection point before pickup. Before you book us:
- Arrange any service or goods lift needed to move your mattress outside before pickup, following your building’s permitted hours
- Confirm a suitable kerbside collection point outside the building
- Check building access rules for anyone you arrange to help move your mattress outside
- Give us the street address and agreed kerbside collection details
That's five minutes of admin that turns a potentially wasted trip into a ten-minute job.
Why the council route usually doesn't work here
City of Sydney runs a booked bulky collection service, but for a CBD apartment resident it's rarely practical. The booking generally has to come from the owners corporation or building manager rather than an individual tenant, there's often nowhere to legally place items, and most strata schemes prohibit staging items in the foyer, corridor or bin room while waiting for a collection date.
Meanwhile, putting a mattress on a city footpath without a booking is illegal dumping and it's fineable. What that costs.
Older buildings too
Not all of the inner city is new towers. Pyrmont, Ultimo, Chippendale, Woolloomooloo and Potts Point have plenty of walk-ups, warehouse conversions and older blocks with small original lifts.
If a lift is too small, arrange suitable help to move the mattress safely outside before pickup. Our team does not collect from inside buildings or carry items down stairs.
Parking and timing
City parking is the other constraint. Loading zones are contested and time-limited, and city streets have restrictions that change through the day. Weekday mid-mornings are generally easiest. Confirm the kerbside collection point and any nearby legal loading space when you book.
What it costs
$80 flat per mattress, single to super king, any condition. Kerbside collection, no call-out fee, no CBD premium. Several at once is $80 each in one trip.
Fridge going too? From $80. Old TV or electronics? A flat $80 per load for electronics, from $80 for an old TV ($150 for a large one) — and worth bundling, provided all items are outside at the kerbside before pickup.

Frequently asked questions
Who books the service lift?
You arrange any service lift needed to have the mattress safely moved outside to the kerbside before our arrival.
My building only allows removals on weekdays.
We collect Monday to Friday, 6am–4pm. Arrange a permitted time to move your mattress outside before the agreed pickup window.
Do I need to be home?
No, provided the mattress is outside at the agreed kerbside collection point before pickup.
Can I just leave it in the bin room?
Almost certainly not — most strata schemes prohibit it and the charge lands on the lot owner.
