Before we come
- Cancel the rego and return the plates to Service NSW if it's still registered — you may get back the unused motor vehicle tax, less a cancellation fee (not the registration or plate fees)
- Lodge the notice of disposal
- Cancel the insurance
- Remove the toll tag
- Empty the car — glovebox, boot, under the seats, service book
- Have proof of ownership and photo ID ready
Until the rego is cancelled and disposal lodged, the vehicle is still legally yours — along with any tolls and fines it picks up.
Access
