Car Removal Bankstown — We're Down the Road

Updated

Our yard is in Bankstown — 3/17 Kitchener Parade — so if your car is anywhere in the 2200 postcode, we're minutes away. Running or not, registered or not, we tow it from where it sits, and this is the area where we can most often do it same-day.

What we take

Just about anything with four wheels and a chassis:

  • Cars that won't start, or have no engine at all
  • Unregistered vehicles, including ones off the road for a decade
  • Written-off cars, statutory or repairable
  • Fire and flood damaged vehicles
  • Cars sitting on flat tyres or up on blocks
  • Half-stripped project cars that never got finished
  • Vans, utes and 4WDs

The only questions that matter are whether it rolls and steers, and whether a truck can reach it. How our car removal works.

Will you pay me for it?

Depends on the car, and we'll tell you honestly before anything is booked.

An end-of-life vehicle is worth its salvageable parts plus the weight of its metal. Heavy, common models with the engine, gearbox and catalytic converter still fitted are worth more. Light cars, stripped cars, and severely rusted or fire-damaged ones are worth less — sometimes less than the cost of collecting them, in which case it's a modest removal fee instead.

Send us the rego, or the make, model and year, plus a photo. You'll get a straight answer, and it won't change when the truck arrives. Here's how that call is actually made.

The Service NSW steps

Do these or the car stays legally yours:

  1. Cancel the registration and return the plates to Service NSW. If you cancel before the rego expires, you may get back the unused motor vehicle tax, less a cancellation fee — the registration and plate fees aren't refunded.
  2. Lodge the notice of disposal so the vehicle stops being recorded against you.
  3. Cancel your insurance and ask about a pro-rata refund.
  4. Take the toll tag out. The most forgotten step, and the one that keeps charging you.
  5. Clear your belongings — glovebox, boot, under the seats.

Have proof of ownership and photo ID ready on the day. We'll ask for both, and any operator who doesn't is one to avoid.

Access in Bankstown

Most properties here have driveway or garage access, which makes it straightforward. The things worth mentioning when you book:

  • Whether it rolls and steers
  • Whether it's on a driveway, in a garage, down the side or in the back yard
  • Gate width if it's behind one
  • Whether it's sunk into soft ground after sitting for years
  • Anything parked in front of it

Canterbury-Bankstown Council

Worth knowing: councils never collect vehicles, and an unregistered car left on a street or nature strip can be impounded, with towing and storage charged back to the registered owner. Canterbury-Bankstown is active on abandoned vehicles. Leaving it there is the slowest and most expensive option available.

Frequently asked questions

How fast can you collect in Bankstown?

Often same-day if you call early. It's our home patch.

Do I need the keys?

Helpful but not essential — tell us if they're lost so we bring the right gear.

Does someone need to be there?

Yes, for a car. Someone has to hand over keys and sign the paperwork.

What if the car isn't in my name?

Talk to us first — it's solvable, but it needs sorting before collection, not on the day.
