E-Waste Collection Sydney CBD — Offices and Apartments
Updated
Share
E-waste collection across the Sydney CBD — offices, apartments and everything in between. NSW doesn't have a statewide ban on binning e-waste (Victoria does), but it shouldn't go in any household bin: anything with a battery can start a fire in the garbage truck, and TVs and computers can be recycled for free through the national scheme (what the law actually says). In a CBD tower, confirm a suitable collection point with building management and us before booking; a drop-off is another option.
The CBD constraint: docks and lifts
Your team or building management must arrange internal movement and have items ready before our crew arrives; we do not carry items from inside buildings or on stairs. Household collection is kerbside only. Contact us to confirm the collection point. Nearly every commercial and residential tower requires:
- A loading dock booking, often days in advance, with a height limit that not every truck clears
- Any goods or service lift booking your team needs to bring items to the agreed collection point before pickup, frequently restricted to specific hours
- Building induction or a certificate of currency for contractors in some commercial buildings
- Security sign-in and sometimes an escort
Tell us the building, proposed collection point and vehicle-access rules when you request a quote. Getting that right first time is the difference between one visit and two.
For offices
End-of-life IT is what we handle most in the CBD: desktops, laptops, monitors, servers, networking gear, printers, phones and screens.
Do the data first. Build an asset list before anything moves, wipe devices and deauthorise software while they're still in your control, and don't forget the machines nobody thinks of — multifunction printers and copiers hold scanned documents on internal drives, and so do conference room systems and camera recorders.
We can supply a certificate of recycling where you need documentation for ESG reporting, tender responses or internal compliance. Ask when you request the quote. Full business guide here.
For apartments
CBD apartment residents have a harder disposal problem than most: no nature strip, and strata by-laws that prohibit leaving anything in common areas or the bin room. The City of Sydney does give residents free weekly pick-ups for electronics and other large household items, booked online (City of Sydney, checked 27 Sep 2026) — check with your building manager where items go on collection day.
An old TV in a CBD apartment genuinely has nowhere to go except a booked collection or a trip to a council drop-off point, which is difficult without a car. More on TV disposal options.
What we take
TVs, monitors, desktops, laptops, tablets, phones, servers, networking equipment, printers, UPS units, cables, chargers and power boards. Any condition — broken is fine, it's being recycled for materials.
Also fridges and freezers at $80 for a small–medium unit or $150 for a large one, which covers the office kitchen fridge and the drinks fridge that every floor seems to have.
What it costs
A normal household amount is a flat $80 per load, and an old TV is from $80 ($150 for a large TV). We quote bigger office loads from photos and confirm the price before we come, because a handful of laptops and a floor of monitors aren't the same job. What drives an office quote: volume, weight (old CRTs and large panels are the heavy ones), the agreed collection point, and vehicle access. No call-out fee, and the quote doesn't change on the day.
Areas we cover
Sydney CBD, Barangaroo, Circular Quay, The Rocks, Darling Harbour, Pyrmont, Ultimo, Haymarket, Surry Hills, Darlinghurst, Woolloomooloo, Potts Point and Millers Point.
Frequently asked questions
Can you provide a certificate of recycling?
Yes — ask when you request the quote so it's arranged up front.
Do you wipe the data?
We strongly recommend you wipe devices before they leave your control. For drives needing physical destruction, tell us when you book.
We've only got a few items — is that too small?
No. A few items is a normal household amount — a flat $80 per load.
Can you work outside business hours?
We run Monday to Friday, 6am–4pm. Early starts are usually easy to arrange, and many buildings prefer them.
