Construction & Renovation Waste Removal in Sydney
Share
Construction waste removal in Sydney means we come to your job or your home, load the timber, plasterboard, tiles, bricks, rubble and fit-out debris, and haul it away — no skip to hire and no loading it yourself. Renovation rubbish is a mix of light bulky offcuts and heavy, dense material, so pricing is based on a fair read of both volume and weight. You send a few photos, we send back one fixed quote, and we do the lifting. We don't take asbestos or hazardous materials — more on that below.
Here's exactly what that looks like for a Sydney reno, knockdown or fit-out, and how the pricing actually works.
What counts as construction and renovation waste?
If it came out of a build, a strip-out or a backyard reno, we'll most likely take it. The common ones we clear across Sydney:
- Timber and offcuts — framing, decking, skirting, old flooring, pallets and formwork.
- Plasterboard and gyprock — full sheets and offcuts from new walls or a strip-out.
- Tiles, bricks and pavers — chipped, leftover or ripped up from old floors and walls.
- Concrete, rubble and clean fill — broken slab, render, mortar and dug-out spoil.
- Fit-out and fixture debris — old kitchens, vanities, cabinetry, benchtops, doors and architraves.
- General site rubbish — packaging, plastic wrap, cardboard, insulation offcuts and bagged mixed waste.
Whether it's a single bathroom reno, a full kitchen rip-out, an end-of-job site clean or a builder's regular pickups, the job is the same: clear it fast and recycle as much as possible.
How construction waste removal is priced in Sydney
Most household junk is priced on volume — how much space it takes in the truck. Reno waste is different because a lot of it is heavy and dense. A trailer of broken tiles, bricks or concrete weighs far more than the same trailer of timber offcuts, and that weight is what the recycling and tip facilities charge on.
So for construction and renovation rubbish we look at both:
- Volume — the space your load takes up, same as a normal clear-out.
- Weight and density — heavy materials like concrete, bricks, tiles and clean fill cost more to dispose of than light bulky timber or cabinetry.
- Access — kerbside or driveway is quickest; stairs, long carries, tight side passages and upper-floor strip-outs take more time.
As a rough guide, general rubbish removal in Sydney runs from around $350 for a half load (ute or trailer) and from around $700 for a full truck load — but dense reno material sits at the heavier end because of the weight. The honest answer is that it varies, so the fairest thing is a fixed quote on your actual load rather than a guessed number. Send a few photos and get a fast quote with the price up front. What we don't take: asbestos and hazardous material
This is the important one on an older Sydney reno. We do not remove asbestos or hazardous waste, and you should never put it in a general skip or pile it with normal rubbish either.
Material we can't carry includes:
- Asbestos — fibro sheeting, old eaves, vinyl backing and some textured ceilings in pre-1990 homes. This needs a licensed asbestos removalist and approved disposal under NSW rules.
- Chemicals, solvents, paint, oils and liquids.
- Gas bottles, aerosols and anything pressurised or flammable.
If you're stripping anything in an older property and you're not certain what it is, stop and get it tested before you touch it. NSW has clear rules on asbestos through SafeWork NSW — when in doubt, leave it to a licensed pro. Once the hazardous material is handled properly, we'll happily clear the rest.
Why on-call removal beats a skip for a one-off reno
A skip bin can make sense for a long build where rubbish trickles out over weeks. For a one-off renovation, on-call removal is usually the easier and tidier option.
- No loading it yourself. With a skip, you carry every brick and sheet of gyprock into the bin. We bring the crew and do the lifting.
- No council permit hassle. A skip on the street often needs a permit in many Sydney councils. A truck that comes, loads and leaves doesn't park on your nature strip for a week.
- You pay for what you have. A skip charges for space whether you fill it or not — and heavy reno waste can hit the bin's weight limit before it's even full, triggering extra fees.
- It's gone the same day. No bin sitting in the driveway collecting the neighbours' rubbish until the hire company comes back.
If you're weighing it up, our guide on what can and can't go in a skip bin is worth a read before you book one.
What happens to your reno waste
Construction material is some of the most recyclable rubbish there is. Timber, clean concrete, bricks, metal and cardboard can all be recovered and reprocessed rather than buried. We sort the load and send as much as possible for recycling — Recycle Corp diverts up to around 90% of what we collect from landfill. You can read more about how we keep waste out of landfill.
Frequently asked questions
Do you take heavy materials like concrete, bricks and tiles?
Yes. Concrete, bricks, pavers, tiles and clean fill are part of normal renovation waste removal for us. Because these are dense and heavy, they're priced with weight in mind as well as volume — so it's best to send photos and mention roughly how much there is, and we'll give you a fixed quote that accounts for it.
Can you remove renovation rubbish from an apartment or upstairs job?
We can. Stairs, lifts, long carries and tight access just add time, so it helps to tell us the floor level and the path to the truck when you send your photos. We factor access into the quote up front so there are no surprises on the day. If it's an end-of-lease clean-up too, our end-of-lease rubbish removal guide covers what to expect.
Do I need to sort or bag the waste before you arrive?
No — you don't have to sort it. We're happy to take a mixed pile of reno debris and sort it for recycling ourselves. The one exception is hazardous material: anything you suspect is asbestos must be handled by a licensed removalist and kept completely separate, as we can't carry it.
